About Us
Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is the officially designated agency for Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai and Shoshone Counties. We are part of a nationwide aging network and one of six Area Agencies on Aging in Idaho, created through the Older Americans Act, with a focus on helping people 60 years of age or older stay independent and contributing members of their community.

Mission & Values
Our mission is to work in partnership with older adults, families, and the community to secure information and services that maximize independence and quality of life. We value supports that help people stay in their home, caregivers who make the difference, volunteers who give so our community can be a better place to live, safety and autonomy, and partners who help us make it all work. For more information, see a copy of our area plan [PDF] or annual report [PDF].
Funding
The Area Agency on Aging receives federal, state and local funding. Information on revenue and expenditures can be found in our annual report [PDF].
Make A Donation
Unfortunately, the number of elders asking for help exceeds available resources. We want to be able to give assurance to our elders that the Area Agency on Aging truly is “where you go for answers on aging.” Click here to donate online, consider a gift in perpetuity, or call our office to learn more.
Aging Services for North Idaho Endowment
In the spring of 2011 the Area Agency on Aging established a partnership with Inland Northwest Community Foundation. The Foundation works with potential donors and manages the Aging Services for North Idaho endowment investments and distributions. The intent is to create an endowment large enough that the interest earnings will fill in the gaps of unmet needs and assist the five northern counties of Idaho in developing new programming as needs change from one generation to another. To learn more about the endowment, click on the resources to the right listed under "Aging Services for North Idaho Endowment."
